International Women’s Day At Dell

Honoured to be invited by Dell System for celebrating the International Women’s Day at Dell Systems, as one of the guest speakers on 12 March 2015.

It was a wonderful few hours spent amongst old colleagues and other guests who had carved their careers in different areas.

It all started with specially designed invite, with the event dress code as ‘purple’.

My ex-colleague Pradeep Solanki and Mamta Mamta of Buzzaria were the other Guest speakers, with whom I had the honor to share the stage.

Pradeep Solanki, like me as left the IT field and is now running his own business, teaching Yoga to Corporates. Mamta runs Buzzaria, a multi-brand fashion store in New Delhi.

Women issues are very close to my heart and it was heartening to see the way corporates focus and encourage the women workforce. I spoke about the current trends in the market about women leaving jobs due to various reasons and re-joining the work-place. According to a study, in India higher percentage of female employees come back to work as compared to US and other countries. This trend certainly boosts the morale and shows the support for the women of our country.

The event was also interspersed with cultural performances by the Dell employees. It was encouraging to see so much enthusiasm and talent on the stage. The enthusiasm of the young crowd, support by the seniors and efforts of the organisers made it a very memorable day for me.
